Aug. 19 will mark the beginning of the 2019- 2020 school year. To kick off the new school year, Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) has two exciting announcements to make in the food services area.

Last year, Kenbridge Elementary (KES) and Victoria Elementary Schools (VES) both qualified for free meals through the Community Eligibility Provision, a U.S. Department of Agriculture program. “We are excited to be able to add Lunenburg Middle School (LMS) this year. This means that all students at KES, VES and LMS will receive free breakfast and lunch all year long,” a press release stated.

The release went on to say, “Our second announcement is that our free and reduced meal application can now be completed and submitted online. You can find this option on our website, www.lunenburgcountyschools.org. Select Menu and go to the Food Services page and you will see the button to click to apply. Even though all students at KES, VES, and LMS will receive free meals, families will still need to fill out the free and reduced meal application.”
