Bids requested for sewer line repairs

The Town of Kenbridge, has requested bids for active sanitary sewer line repairs on three roads according to a public notice from the town and Town Manager Robyn Fowler.
The sewer lines are located on two areas of South Broad Street, on Shade Street and Station Street.
“All locations consist of existing 8” PVC (C-900) using a FERNCO or Krause coupling for connection to the existing concrete pipe,” the noticed cited.
Fowler said that the sewer lines are being repaired due to the age of the lines.
Bids for the project are due by 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16. A pre-bid conference is set for Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2 p.m. at the Kenbridge Town Hall, 511 E. Fifth Ave.
“A 5 percent bid bond is required to accompany the bid,” the notice cited. “A Performance and Payment bond will be required once project is awarded. Certificate of insurance is required and shall name Town of Kenbridge additionally insured.”
The contract would be awarded on a linear foot basis. According to the notice, the town has the option to add or subtract total linear foot.
