Frances Mae Lee Pryor

Frances Mae Pryor was born on July 4, 1927 in Kenbridge, Virginia, Lunenburg County, to Douglas and Eleanor Lee. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 10 after a long and courageous battle with illness.

Frances received Christ and was baptized and joined the Flat Rock Baptist Church at an early age. She was educated in the public schools of Lunenburg County and graduated from Lunenburg Training School (Later named Lunenburg High School).

Frances loved to cook and will always be remembered for her delicious potato salad and hot rolls. She was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Irby Lee Pryor. She was also preceded in death by siblings; Alice Holt, Robert Lee, Nora Maddox, Frank Lee, Herman Lee, Alice Glasgow, Charles Lee, Sid Lee, Rozena Edmonds, Willie Lee, John Lee and Albert Lee and a great grandson, Orlanda Shaw, Jr.

Frances leaves sadly behind to cherish her memories a devoted son, Irby Donnell Pryor (Lend), daughter, Rachel Mae Johnson; one sister, Mary Lee Studevant (Roger); two grandsons, Shawn and Terrell Pryor; one granddaughter, Latarsha Johnson, great-granddaughter, Jakiera Briana Shaw, great, great-granddaughter, Tiara Pryor; great, great-grandson, Ja’Khari Ward; nephews, Alvester Edmonds (Arlene), Sam Edmonds (JoAnn), Charles Lee (Shirley), Robert Lee, Charles Glasgow, Ricardo Glasgow, Ronnie Lee, Willie Lee, Jr. and Kevin Studevant (Valerie); nieces, Shirley Ridley, Marie Davis, Delores G. Johnson, Dorothea Hunter, Linda Lee, Marietta Maddox, Nancy Knight, Stella Patterson, Sonia Lee-Jones, Patricia Lee and Kecia Studevant-Howell (Daryl), as well as numerous other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17 at noon at Flatrock Baptist Church, Kenbridge with the Rev. Herman Lundy, pastor. Interment was in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
