Anna L. Kitchen was born on Feb. 23, 1930 on a farm outside of Lyndon KS. She passed away on Aug. 18, 2019 in Plains, MT.

Anna had a MS in psychology from KU and began her career in 1960 in California at Sonoma State Hospital.

She later worked in Kansas at the Neurological Institute before moving to Virginia in the early 70’s.

She worked in the Portsmouth Schools, then Virginia Beach Schools, and later for the Lunenburg County Schools, all in Virginia.

Anna explains: “ I evaluated students with “problems” and saw them for therapeutic activities, which the students thought of it as play. I enjoyed it a lot, too. My evaluations were then used by the schools placement teams for the students.”

Anna retired in 1993 and lived in a log cabin outside of Victoria, VA with her dogs, until moving to Tulsa OK to a retirement community in 2014. Then in 2016, she moved to assisted living in Montana to be closer to her niece, Plains MT.

Anna was also a painter of many pictures throughout her lifetime.

She will be missed.
