The CMH Foundation recently received a donation of $1,000 from The Ladies of the Lake Cancer Support Team to benefit local cancer patients.

“The Ladies of the Lake Cancer Support Team is a group of very dedicated and caring women who have made a major impact for our Cancer Care Fund,” said Director of Marketing & Development, VCU Health CMH Ken Kurz. The VCU Health CMH Cancer Care Fund was started in 2013 to help patients in our community who are dealing with cancer. Often during treatment, many patients lose their insurance or face financial toxicity, which makes nausea and pain medications very difficult to afford. This Cancer Care Fund is designed to help offset the cost of these medications. As patients visit the Hendrick Cancer Center/Solari Radiation Therapy Center daily for chemotherapy and/or radiation services the distance a patient travels can become costly, so the Cancer Care Fund can also assist with these travel expenses.
