FOP installation of officers

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) hosted an installation of new officers for Southside Lodge 74 of Fraternal Order of Police on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
John Ohrnberger, the Virginia FOP State President issued the Oath of Office.
The following officers were installed: Donald Gregory as president, Mike Landry as vice president, Charles Walker as director, Joe DeGrace as Sgt. at Arms, Matthew Gatling as secretary, and Joel Manning as treasurer and chaplin. Their term of office will run until October 2020.
FOP Southside Lodge 74 began in 2004 with Joel Manning as the president. Any full time sworn law enforcement officer with arrest power who is employed by a government entity may become a member of the FOP.
As previously reported in the The Kenbridge-Victoria Dispatch Manning retired from the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s office in the summer of 2017 after serving more than 28 years of service to the community, including as a police officer and a deputy for Kenbridge and Lunenburg County.
Since 2004 Southside Lodge has supported local charities and provided community assistance with such efforts as Toys for Tots, walk for veterans, state level college scholarships and supported projects for Veterans and active service members.
Manning the current treasurer and chaplain stated “We are an organization that actively works with local law enforcement in community efforts. The community and law enforcement need to work together for the safety of community.”
