SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 3

REVIVAL SERVICES, 11 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Abilene. Services each night will begin at 7 p.m. Dr. Wayne Hines of Lanexa will be the guest speaker. He has shared the gospel all over the world including, Ukraine, Philippines, India, Guatemala, Brazil and much of the U.S. There will be special music each night and a nursery will be provided.

OCTOBER 5

TOUCH A TRUCK, 10 a.m-4 p.m. at Meherrin Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Vehicles to include, emergency vehicles, farm equipment, construction equipment and lots more. This is a family fun event featuring food, fun activities and more.

COMMUNITY COOKOUT/CLOTHING GIVEAWAY, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Event is free. All are welcome.

SHEEP STEW, 5 p.m. first come, first serve at Dundas Ruritan club.

BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL BENEFIT, noon-11 p.m. at Philbecks Community Music House, 3 miles west of Keysville on Route 40 beside Strikefore Tire. Stew will be sold by the quart or bowl. Stew master “Heavy Duty” will cook up barbecue and fixins for supper at 5 p.m. Donations are appreciated. Five different bluegrass bands will be performing with an auction at noon. Raffle tickets for sale for homemade afghans, gift certificates and more. Free admission. No alcohol/drugs.

OCTOBER 6

ANNUAL SUNDAY SCHOOL DAY, 11 a.m. at New Grove Baptist Church. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Sharon Baskerville, pastor-elect of Blooms Hill Baptist Church, South Hill. Music provided by the Bethany Baptist church choir.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY, 11:30 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church of Kenbridge. We will also celebrate the ninth anniversary of our pastor, the Rev. Ray A. Smith. All are welcome.

OCTOBER 7

CHURCH ETIQUETTE CLASS, 7 p.m. at class hosted by The Bluestone-Harmony Association, Keysville. This class is a substitute for our regular Evans-Smith Institute which will be continued in January 2020. All Christians are welcome to enroll. There will be five two-hour classes; each running on Monday night between the hours of 7-9 p.m. Registration will be at 6:30 p.m. Questions may be directed to Dr. Herman Lundy at (434) 774-7511 or 434-955-7036.

NAACP TO MEET, 7 p.m. of the Lunenburg Branch at People’s Community Center.

OCTOBER 8

TOWN COUNCIL MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Victoria Town Office, 1809 Main St., Victoria.

OCTOBER 12

TURKEY SHOOT, noon-until at Harding Circle, 1074 Burkeville Road, Victoria. Chilli and barbecue available.

AUTUMN DAYS, starting at 8 a.m. with the Teresa Matthews memorial 5K event. Activities throughout the day to include activities for the kids, such as pumpkin painting, caboose rides, corn hole and much more. A barbecue cook Off will be held for you to vote for your favorite chef followed by the Truck and Tractor Pull sponsored by Victoria Fire and Rescue.

OCTOBER 13

WELCOME AND WORSHIP, 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 2104 Jonesboro Road, Kenbridge. Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. The Rev. Darrell K. Jones, pastor elect.

OCTOBER 15

KENBRIDGE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING, 7 p.m. at Kenbridge Town Hall, 511 Fifth Ave., #2.

OCTOBER 20

PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Silone Baptist Church in honor of pastor, the Rev. Melvin J. Palmer with guest minister Pastor Garland Liggon, along with his choir, Faith Baptist of South Hill. Dinner will be served. Everyone is welcome.

19TH USHERS ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at RZUA Church, Meredithville. Everyone welcome.

OCTOBER 22

OCTOBER 31

TRUNK OR TREAT, 5:30-7 p.m. in Victoria at the Victoria Railroad Park. The event for Kenbridge will held at the same time in the Kenbridge Town Hall parking lot, 511 E. Fifth Ave. Kids up to 13 years of age are welcome. Contact town officials in Victoria or Kenbridge if you would like to decorate your trunk or to make a donation for the event.
