Police vehicle involved in accident

An accident at the intersection of Route 40 and Eighth Street in Victoria involved a Town of Kenbridge police vehicle. No injuries were sustained in the crash.
According to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corrine Geller, “Virginia State Police Trooper J. Kempo responded to investigate a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Victoria. The crash occurred Oct. 2 at 11:43 a.m. at the intersection of Route 40 and Eighth Street.” “
A 1996 Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on Route 40/Main Street when it failed to stop for the red light, continued into the intersection and struck a Town of Kenbridge police 2017 Dodge Durango traveling east through the intersection,” Geller further stated in an email.
“The driver of the Jeep, Jessica L. Marshall, 40, of Drakes Branch, was charged for failing to stop for a red light. She was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Durango, Justin T. Anderson, 31, was not injured in the crash. The Durango is a Town of Kenbridge Police vehicle,” the release went on to say.
