The Lunenburg County Historical Society is recently announced the results of its photography contest for 2018-19.
In a press release, organizers stated, “We appreciate all who accepted the challenge of entering a photograph – either color or black and white – that reflected Lunenburg’s historical past. We are also grateful to our judges, trained and award-winning photographers, who selected the winners.” Rules required that all photographs be taken in Lunenburg County between Sept. 2018 and Sept. 2019. Photographers did not have to be residents of the county.
Our congratulations to the winners: color, first place, Jenean Hall, Onancock; second place, Tina Ehman, Meherrin; third place, Kittrell Elsaesser, Lunenburg; and honorable mention Bilal Raychouni, Powhatan; black and white, Bonnie Daniel, Kenbridge.
Winners received cash awards for their photographs. Winning photographs will soon be available for inspection at Lunenburg’s two public libraries in Kenbridge and Victoria.
Area photographers are encouraged to begin taking photos of history-related Lunenburg County scenes for the 2019-2020 photo contest that will conclude in September 2020.
