Edward Randolph ‘Butch’ Bell

Edward Randolph “Butch” Bell was born September 13, 1954 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to Robert Edward and Dorothy Rainey Bell. He was the oldest of three children.

He was a graduate of Central Senior High School in 1972. He was also a graduate of Southside Virginia Community College.

He was a long time member of New Grove Baptist Church; there he attended Sunday school and at one time served as president of the youth choir. He was also a member of the Ushers Ministry.

He was employed for many years at Kenbridge Sportswear until it closed. He then worked for Mecklenburg County at Parkview High School for 18 years. He also worked at Community Memorial Health Center and other various part time jobs.

When he was not working he enjoyed fishing, gardening and his grandchildren in his spare time.

On Monday October 14, 2019 Butch transitioned from earth to heaven at VCU Community Memorial Health Center South Hill, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his father Deacon Edward R. Bell.

Butch is survived by his mother, Deaconess Dorothy R. Bell, his daughter Ca’Meshia Mitchell (Fadarie), his grandchildren; Antony, Deja, Nicholas, and Jayden, his sisters, Barbara Lee (Johnnie) and Catherine Bell; aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 20, 2:30 p.m. at New Grove Baptist Church, Kenbridge with interment in the church cemetery.
