THANKSGIVING SERVICE, 10 a.m. at Pleasant Oak Baptist Church.

NOVEMBER 30

IN CONCERT, 6 p.m. at Ontario Christian Church will be gospel recording artist Michael Wayne Smith of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The church is located at 175 Old Kings Road (Hwy. 622 & 360), Drakes Branch. Come out and join us in kicking off the holiday season with an evening of Christmas music.

DECEMBER 1

FARMVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE, noon-3:30 p.m., downtown Farmville.

SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY MEETING, 1 p.m. in the Lunenburg County School Board Office conference room. Members can indicate your availability to attend by calling the Special Education Secretary at (434) 676-2467 extension 2529 prior to the meeting.

DECEMBER 2

NAACP TO MEET, 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Building, Tidewater Avenue, Victoria. All are welcome.

DECEMBER 6

LUNENBURG COUNTY COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT, 6:40 p.m. featuring Patricia Mahaney, Mya Mahaney, Maurice Ellis and the Central High School Charger Blues Jazz Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble and Brass Ensemble. Pre-concert piano music by Stacy Sharpe Branch. Hosted by Victoria Baptist Church, located at the corner of Eighth Street and Washington Avenue. Handicapped parking and elevator access available. Inclement weather date is Dec. 20.

KEYSVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE, 7 p.m. Get ready for the floats, music, lights and smiles. Santa will follow up the parade and stop at the King Street Church, across from the main judges platform.

DECEMBER 7

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA, 8-11 a.m. hosted by Victoria Fire & Rescue (VFR) at Rescue Station-7, 915 E. Fifth Ave., Kenbridge. Breakfast will consist of pancakes, bacon and beverage. Pictures with Santa will also be available. Proceeds to benefit VFR.

DECEMBER 7 AND 8

ANNUAL HOLIDAY HERITAGE HOUSE TOUR, 1-5 p.m. each day. Sponsored by Lunenburg County Historical Society, at Aspen Hill Farm, 2284 Wallace’s Bridge Road in southern Lunenburg. Built ca. 1818, restored as country home of Pat and Steve Israel.

DECEMBER 10

KEYSVILLE OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS DECORATION CONTEST, Judging will take place at 6 p.m. Hosted by the Keysville Garden Club and the Keysville Ruritan Club. Judging includes Keysville and a 5 mile radius. DECEMBER 13

VICTORIA CHRISTMAS PARADE, 7 p.m. on Main Street, Victoria. Contact the Victoria Town Office at (434) 696-2343 if you would like to participate.

CHRISTMAS CAMP OPEN HOUSE, 4-7 p.m. at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center. Bring your whole family and come see the historic cabins decorated for Christmas and support your local 4-H office in our cabin decorating contest. Enjoy a bonfire, hay rides and games.
