“Arts-and-crafts” was the theme of the November meeting of the Delta Alpha Chapter of the Virginia organization of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society of key women educators. Mary Ann Whitlow (left) and Rita Ashton displayed their handmade Christmas ornaments, pins, candles and notepaper for sale to members to raise money for chapter projects. These include scholarships to local young women pursuing teacher-training education, Lunenburg and Brunswick Library Systems, Schools for Africa and World Fellowship Fund, which supports women from other countries to study in the U.S. Members also made decorations for the Delta Alpha Chapter tree display that will be in the Victoria Public Library in December.
