While the Central High School varsity boys basketball team earned its first win of the 2019- 20 against Appomattox Regional Governor’s School (RGS) at home Jan. 6, the Chargers were not able to repeat that success on the Dragons’ home court Friday, Jan. 10, falling 50-39.

“We played hard, gave great effort but needed more second-chance shots to fall in for us,” Central Head Coach Mike McGrath said.

Statistical leaders for the Chargers included junior guard Tyler McGrath with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, junior center James Puryear Jr. with six points and 16 boards, senior guard T’zion Wilkerson with seven points and four boards and senior forward Shamond Sellers with 10 rebounds.

Central (1-10) hosted Bluestone on Tuesday, Jan. 14, and visits Buckingham on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m.
