On Jan. 15 Andi Otey was invited by the Children’s Hospital of Richmond to meet her idol, Miss America. Andi was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor last May and had surgery to remove both the tumor and her left kidney. Andi was chosen to represent the month of August in the Hospital Calendar and informed Miss America that they now both had titles. Miss America is a doctor of pharmacy student at VCU and she and Andi discussed science experiments, becoming a doctor and of course tiaras! Pictured are, Andi with her mom Jessica and Miss America, Camille Schrier. Andi is the granddaughter of Vern and Kyna Otey of Victoria.
