Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) Division Spelling Bee winner Morgan Turner, a fourth grader at Victoria Elementary, and runner up Levi Peacock, a fifth grader at Kenbridge Elementary, were recognized at the Monday, Feb. 10 school board meeting. Patrick Sacra, an eighth grader at Lunenburg Middle School, was the third-place contestant and was not able to be there. Morgan will represent LCPS at the Richmond Times-Dispatch Spelling Bee March 21 at the Library of Virginia in Richmond. Morgan (left) and Levi (right) are pictured here with school board member Melanie Currin who presented them with a special gift. Currin participated in spelling bees as a student and her son, Benjamin Currin, won the LCPS Division Spelling Bee numerous times, giving her a great appreciation for the hard work and effort spelling bee contestants must put forth.
