A family of two adults and 10 children were displaced from their home on Trailer Park Road in Victoria Wednesday, Feb. 19. Victoria Fire and Rescue Fire Chief Rodney Newton said the family is being assisted by the Red Cross. They lost everything in the fire, Newton said. The mobile home was destroyed. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature. Newton emphasized the need for every home to have working smoke detectors. Victoria and Meherrin fire and rescue units responded to the blaze. Pictured above are Russ Mattox, left, and Chad Berkley fighting the fire.
