Southside Soil and Water Conservation District is offering the Joe and Helen Vaden Scholarship to a deserving student who demonstrates an interest in pursuing a career in natural resource conservation or environmental protection.

The scholarship is open to students who:

• Reside in Charlotte or Lunenburg counties

• Are enrolled or been accepted at a full-time two year or four year college/university

• Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and are in the top 20% of their class

• Demonstrate a strong desire to major in studies and/ or pursue a career in natural resource conservation or environmental protection

Applications for the scholarship have been made available to Randolph-Henry High School, Central of Lunenburg High School, Fuqua School and Kenston Forest.

Official transcripts and letters of recommendation must be submitted with the application to Southside SWCD on or before April 6.
