James Melvyn Fowler, 78, of Victoria, Va. joined his family in Heaven on February 28, 2020.

Son of the late Purless L. Fowler and Laura Driskill Fowler; brother of the late Raymond Lester Fowler, P.A. Fowler and Joyce Ann F. Parsons.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beth G. Fowler; his son, Tim Fowler (Becky) of Kenbridge; his daughter, Tammie King of Victoria; three grandchildren, Madison King, Chris Fowler and Savanna Fowler; two sisters, Christine Price of Farmville and Lois DeHart (Arlen) of Wilmington, NC.

Melvyn was a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Virginia Army National Guard. He retired from Virginia Army National Guard MATES Division as a communications specialist and from the town of Victoria as a wastewater treatment plant operator. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, boating and watching his grandchildren play ball.
