Centra, owner of Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, announced Friday afternoon that it will provide free COVID-19 lab testing for all patients being treated at any Centra facility or testing site.

A release from the company said Centra will continue to follow current testing guidelines. They said recommendations for testing will likely change.

Patients who do not have symptoms consistent with the virus or do not meet current criteria will not be tested, at this time.

This free testing for COVID-19 will also include patients who received testing since Thursday, March 12 at 8 a.m.
