The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to communitycalendar@kvdispatch. com. Events that have been confirmed as canceled are noted. Please check with the event before assuming the event is still on.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, all Friendship Cafes sponsored by Piedmont Senior Resources will be closed. Services for home delivered meals and non-emergency transportation program clients will not be interrupted, as these services are essential to most of the older adults’ day-to-day functions.

MARCH 18

YOUTH REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church beginning with prayer and praise service. There will be different speakers and choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

LUNENBURG COMMUNITY CONCERT, has been postponed for at least two months. Watch for future announcements in this newspaper and follow us on Facebook for further updates.

MARCH 21

MEETING, 10 a.m. of the Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution at the Farmville Presbyterian Church. There will be an awards ceremony followed by a presentation from guest speaker Roma Morris, Director of Prince Edward Social Services. The topic of discussion will be, “Empowering People.”

GOSPEL CONCERT, 4 p.m. at Prince Edward County High School hosted by the Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Different groups will be performing. The master of ceremony will be the Rev. Dr. Cavell Phillips, assistant pastor of the Richmond Christian Center and the host of “The Beat” on 106.5. Everyone is welcome. The concert will benefit the Sorority’s Scholarship fund.

ANNIVERSARY SERVICE, 3 p.m. at Gilfield Baptist Church, Kenbridge, has been canceled.

GOSPEL PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Kenbridge has been canceled.

WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Gethsemane Holy Church, 10th & Tidewater Avenue, Victoria. Guest speaker will be Carolyn Henderson of Global Kingdom Church, Richmond.

MARCH 26

BI-MONTHLY MEETING, 6 p.m. of the Lunenburg County Public Library System, Inc. Board of Trustees at the Victoria Public Library. This meeting is open to the public.

MARCH 29

MUSICAL WORSHIP SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road, Keysville followed by lunch at noon. Musical guests are the Buffalo Creek Ramblers from Amelia. All are welcome.

APRIL 4

SPRING FLING DANCE, 7 p.m.-midnight hosted by the K-V Lions Club at People’s Community Center, 1021 Tidewater Ave., Victoria. Music by Soul Unbound DJ’s. Food and beverage provided. HUGE FLEA MARKET AND CRAFT SALE, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Dixie Warehouse, South Hill.

APRIL 20-24

SPRING CLEAN-UP WEEK, in the Town of Kenbridge. Residents may place trash, brush and other items by the curb and it will be picked up and taken away at no charge. Normally, there is a charge for such services, but during this clean-up period, it’s on the town. Residents are encouraged to work together to make Kenbridge beautiful.

APRIL 25

TASTE OF THE STATES EVENT, 2 p.m. hosted by Mayflower Baptist Church at the Kenbridge-Victoria Fire and Rescue building for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and great food. Sample dishes from the South Carolina low-country, the Mississippi Delta, the Louisiana Bayou, Tex-Mex, and many other samples. TOWN ELECTIONS, an election for the Victoria and Kenbridge town councils will be held.

JUNE 6

TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL, 6-11 p.m. at Victoria Railroad Park sponsored by Victoria Fire and Rescue.

JUNE 19-20

FIREFLY FESTIVAL, 9-11 p.m. at High Bridge Trail State Park. Activities, crafts, food vendors and much more. The event will be held rain or shine. Parking fees apply. Parking will be at the Camp Paradise parking area.
