Piedmont Health District Director Dr. H. Robert Nash confirmed Tuesday, March 24, that the health district had been made aware of a confirmed positive case of the novel coronavirus in Nottoway County.

Nash said that the organization could not release any additional information about the case at this time.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) provides a regularly updated graph including information about COVID-19 data for the commonwealth.

On Tuesday afternoon, the graph indicated that Virginia had 290 confirmed cases of the virus out of a total 4,470 people tested, along with 45 hospitalizations and 7 deaths. The Nottoway case was not yet included in the graph.

The graph also showed two confirmed cases thus far in Mecklenburg County.
