Several weeks ago, the Lunenburg County Historical Society announced an essay contest for all eighth-grade students living in Lunenburg County.

Essays on the topic “A Legacy for Today’s Lunenburg” were to be turned in by 3 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the office at Lunenburg Middle School, Victoria.

The March 27 deadline date falls within the period of time that the Lunenburg County Public Schools are closed. Therefore, home-schooled or private-schooled students living in Lunenburg who are participating in the contest may submit their essay by mail to LCHS Essay Contest, 689 Fowlkes Road, Victoria, VA 23974. Essays should be received at that address by Monday, March 30.
