The Town of Victoria Industrial Development Authority has recently taken possession of the former manufacturing facility located at 300 Court Street in a deal negotiated with the Lunenburg County Industrial Development Authority.

This facility has been the home to Diemolding Corporation, Southern VA Plastics, and most recently a STEPS production facility. STEPS discontinued using the facility more than a year ago.

The deal was brokered in an attempt to reduce the possibility of this building falling into further disrepair and becoming like several other vacant facilities in the community.

The Town of Victoria is planning to move its maintenance shop from its current location at the corner of 1st Street and Main Street.

The building being used as the maintenance shop is deteriorating and becoming a concern for the town.

The move will give the maintenance shop personnel a facility to maintain equipment, store supplies out of the weather and keep most equipment under shelter. Options for use of the administrative offices on the front of the Court Street facility are being investigated as well.

The town is looking at potential uses for the 1st Street property once the move to the Court Street facility is complete.
