The coronavirus continues to be an issue at the Piedmont Regional Jail, but the facility has thankfully not seen the type of spread seen at the Dillwyn Correctional Center in Buckingham County where more than 200 inmates have been positively diagnosed with the virus.
Piedmont Regional Jail (PRJ) Superintendent Jim Davis said Monday, May 4 that the jail had four inmates quarantined after testing positive for the coronavirus, with three positive officers and four pending test results.
Three PRJ inmates have recovered and are awaiting a return to the general population.
Coronavirus infections in Lunenburg County seem to have stabilized with health officials reporting four cases with no hospitalizations or deaths.
