Trevor Dayton recently became the seventh Eagle Scout in three generations of his family. Trevor is from Cumberland County and was supposed to participate in an Eagle Scout ceremony with his troop but could not due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The family held its own ceremony at Trevor’s grandparent’s (Jay and Marilyn Dayton) home in Victoria. Trevor’s grandfather, Jay Dayton, is an Eagle Scout as are his two great uncles Gary and Greg Dayton. Trevor’s father Joey continued the Eagle Scout tradition along with Trevor’s uncles John Dayton and Peter Dayton. Trevor is the first of a third generation of Eagle Scouts in the Dayton family. Trevor is a 2020 graduate of Cumberland High School and leaves May 26 for Paris Island, S.C. after enlisting in the Marines. (Send a “Pic Me Up” with names and information to PicMeUp@KVDispatch.com.)
