A primary election for both Democrats and Republicans will be held Tuesday, June 23, throughout Virginia.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the polling place for District 101 will be moved from the Victoria Fire and Rescue building to the Victoria-Lunenburg Community Centre. The Centre is located at 1426 6th Street in Victoria.
This is a temporary change for this primary election only.
The deadline to register for an absentee ballot for the election is Tuesday, June 16. The absentee request must be received by the registrar by 5 p.m. that day.
In the Democrat primary, candidates running to represent the party in the 5th District Congressional race are R.D. Huffstetler Jr., B. Cameron Webb, Claire C. Russo and John D. Lessinski.
Mark Warner is running unopposed in the Democrat primary for senator.
The Republican party is choosing its 5th District Candidate at a convention and not utilizing the primary system. There is a statewide primary on the Republican side for the Senate seat currently held by Warner. The candidates seeking to go against Warner in the general election are: Daniel M. Gade, Thomas A. Speciale II and Alissa A. Baldwin.
