To The Editor:

The person/group asking for our statute in Lunenburg to be removed would replace our history with what exactly?

The fact is that the men of this community went to war to defend their rights and property. Most didn’t own slaves and were little more than free slaves of their time.

Go study share-cropping. Confederate veterans by law are American veterans and they deserve to be remembered along with their struggles, right or wrong and how we can avoid those same struggles in our times.

But no, we’d rather destroy history, refusing to honestly explore and learn from it.

We’d rather rush headlong into socialism and a civil war version 2.0 Take a close look around the country, these Antifa-BLM people are run by destructive forces that don’t want reform or equality, they want power and dominance.
