Lunenburg GOP gives scholarships

At its July 6 meeting outside the Rosewood Cafe´ in the village of Lunenburg Court House, Lunenburg County Republicans presented their annual $1,000 scholarships to Dalton Ashworth, Kayla Chaffin, and Victoria Simmons.

Chaffin, a second-time winner, is transferring from Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC). She plans, to attend Old Dominion University in the spring of 2021, where she will study social work. Ashworth graduated from SVCC Governor’s School and will attend Hampden-Sydney College to study business and economics. Simmons was unable to attend the meeting.
