Three new faces will join first-year head coach Vince Luvara on the sidelines at Hampden-Sydney this fall. On Friday, Luvara announced he had added Jadin Davis, Will Margraff and Richard Ramirez to his coaching staff. Davis is the football program’s new cornerbacks coach, Margraff is the new safeties coach and Ramirez takes over as the director of sports performance for football.

“We are very excited to add Coach Davis, Coach Margraff and Coach Ramirez to our coaching staff,” said Luvara. “Coaches Davis and Margraff bring a new level of detail to our secondary and are two great up-and-coming secondary coaches.

“The addition of Coach Ramirez has already been a game changer to our football program. Having someone on staff strictly dedicated to strength and conditioning has already paid immense dividends to our football team since he has arrived on campus.”

MORE ABOUT THE COACHES

Jadin Davis previously served as an assistant coach at Muhlenberg (PA) College from 2021-23. He coached cornerbacks in 2023, helping the Mules to an overall record of 10-1, including 5-1 in the Centennial Conference, along with a 23-7 win past Delaware Valley (PA) University in the Centennial-Middle Atlantic Conference Bowl Series. Muhlenberg ranked among the Top 50 in NCAA Division III passes intercepted (37th, 14), scoring defense (46th, 18.1), total defense (50th, 303.2) and passing efficiency defense (50th, 112.40). Davis coached wide receivers in 2022 (7-4) and was an offensive assistant in 2021 (11-2) when the Mules advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

A native of Clinton, Maryland, Davis graduated from Muhlenberg in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a minor in environmental science. He was a four-year member of the Mules’ football team.

Will Margraff previously served as a defensive quality control coach at the University of Pennsylvania since February 2023. He managed scout teams and produced scouting reports in 2023, among other things, helping the Quakers to an overall record of 6-4. Margraff’s late father, Jim, is the all-time winningest head coach in Johns Hopkins (MD) University football history (221-89-3, 1990-2018).

A native of Lutherville, Maryland, Will graduated from the University of Maryland in January 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in human development. He played one year of baseball (2019) and one year of lacrosse (2020) at Rhodes (TN) College, and was a three-year varsity football team member at the McDonogh (MD) School.

WHAT DOES DIRECTOR OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE DO?

Richard “Goo” Ramirez previously served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Harding (AR) University since August 2023. He designed and instructed workouts for baseball and women’s soccer, communicated with head coaches and athletic training, administered student-athlete readiness tests with technologies such as Virtvue, Vald ForceDecks, timing gates and jump mats, and executed semester movement screens to observe progression of athletic movement quality. Ramirez also has experience as a personal trainer and physical therapist aid.

A native of Fresno, California, Richard graduated from Pacific (OR) University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and psychology. He was a four-year member of the Boxers’ football team. Ramirez is currently pursuing his Master of Science degree in strength and conditioning.
