On Monday, the detour signs started popping up. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) shut down a section of Reedy Creek Road, running between Route 655 and Route 675. VDOT officials say they’re doing this in order to work on a bridge rehabilitation project. Work will take place Monday through Thursday, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the goal of being finished by Wednesday, July 31.

And of course, that means detours are in place. For southbound traffic, VDOT suggests you take Route 675 east, then turn right on Route 659, turn right again on Route 643, right on Route 655 and then get back on Reedy Creek Road.

For northbound traffic, it’s pretty much the same, only in reverse. Take Route 655 north, then turn left on Route 643, left on Route 659, left on Route 675 and then get back on Reedy Creek Road.
