Joyce Ann “Jo Ann” Fowler Parson, 69, of Colonial Heights VA, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2019, after a long illness. She was the devoted and loving wife of Travis Parson for 50 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Dana Parson Abbasov, and 3 lovely granddaughters, Leyla Ann, Julia, and Maya of Colonial Heights. Joyce Ann is survived by one brother, Melvyn Fowler, of Victoria and two sisters, Lois DeHart, of Wilmington NC and Christine Price of Farmville VA.

She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Fowler and P. A. Fowler.

She retired from Victoria Elementary School where she was a secretary and bookkeeper for 27 years. She was a long-time resident of Victoria and a member of Victoria Methodist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school for many years. Like her mother, she loved the little children.

Per her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
