Habitat moves

Piedmont Habitat for Humanity, formerly Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity, is moving their ReStore to a new location. The ReStore opened in Farmville in 2009, as a home improvement center where gently used furniture, household goods, appliances, building materials and more are donated and resold to the public, at substantial savings for the customer. Donors are given a receipt for their items, which can then be used for tax-deduction purposes. Many individuals and local groups also volunteer at the ReStore as a way to support Habitat and contribute to the local community.

On Friday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m., the ReStore will reopen in its new, larger location, at 1506 South Main St., next to the Farmville Food Lion. On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Grand ReOpening Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Piedmont Habitat representative Sam Rabon notes, “This new location will allow for even more inventory, which means more great deals.” ReStore manager Sara Beachum adds, “Our customers are really excited about this move. Everyone is ready to see the new store.”
