The 19th annual Trucker’s Parade Against Cancer (TPAC) will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Randolph-Henry High School.

According to Co-Founder and team member Shelia Jones, over the past 18 years, this event has raised over $1,094,500.00 for the fight against Cancer.

“We have a wonderful group of local truckers and trucking companies that have donated so much time and money to help find a cure for cancer and to show local survivors that they are not alone in their fight, and our truckers strive never to let the memories of the ones lost be forgotten,” said Jones.

Jones said the parade route will travel along Route 40 and turn on to Route 47 heading toward Drakes Branch. The parade will then turn left on Highway 59 toward Keysville and turn right on Highway 40, proceeding down King Street and end at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville.

“It is hard to explain the feeling in the air when you witness just how many lives have been touched by this disease,” explained Jones. “Each truck will be carrying a banner in honor of, or in memory of, someone who has been affected by this disease.”

Jones continued, “Chances are you will see a name of your friend represented that day. Young, old, all races, no one is immune from Cancer.”
