A group of former Kenbridge Day School students and faculty met to honor Marjorie Powers on Sunday. Photographs, memories and lots of laughter and tears were shared. Powers was headmistress of Kenbridge Day School, which started in 1966. “She had a strong moral and educational influence on all of her students and staff. Her trademark was her bright red lipstick and silver whistle,” her students said. “All of us were blessed to have had our lives enriched by her. She is so loved.” Powers is 99 years old.
