Sandra Jean Massie, 71, of Victoria, VA passed away on Sunday December 27, 2015. She was born June 8, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY and was preceded in death by her son; Matthew Roy Houghton, sister Deanna Bridenbaker and her brother, Kenneth Holland. She was raised by her mother Norma and father Donald Holland in Ellicotville, NY where she later married Charles Irving Houghton with whom she began the life of a Navy wife. She worked as a Typesetter and Layout Artist for many years as she travelled the United States during her marriage. Her most rewarding career was that of a mother. She remarried following divorce on June 10, 1983 to Hume Edwin Massie (Ed) and moved to Victoria. She shared many years of happiness here raising her daughter and loving her blended family. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her cats. She is survived by her husband, Hume Edwin “Ed” Massie of Victoria; daughter, Amy Lynn Chester (Maroy) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Brittney Nicole Chester and Samuel Kristopher Chester; her blended family, Karen Massie, Rene Massie, Monica Bottoms (Danny), and Hume Edwin “Eddie” Massie, Jr., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty McClure of NY and Barbara Reynolds of Mississippi; brother Lyle Holland (Marsha), Gerald Holland (Karen) all of NY; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held,Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
