Rites held for Courtney Lee Goodwyn Sr.

Goodwyn, Courtney Lee, Sr., 73, of Dundas, Va., died January 11, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents Mack McClure Goodwyn and Margarette Daniel Goodwyn and his wife Mary Estes Goodwyn. He is survived by his daughters, Christine “Pam” Ferrell (Neil) of DeWitt and Margaret “Kim” Goodwyn of Dundas; one son, Courtney Lee Goodwyn, Jr. (Mary) of Yorktown; and grandsons, John Cabell and Samuel Lee Goodwyn; and sisters Joan Coiner and Dorothy Yates. Courtney graduated from Danville Technical Institute and worked for Western Electric and taught one year of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration at Park View High School. He owned and operated Lucy’s and Radio Shack in Blackstone where he retired in 2013 and also served his country in the National Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge. Courtney was a member of Perseverance Christian Church in Dundas, where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2PM. Interment in the Dundas Baptist Church Cemetery, Dundas.
