Eugene Roy Leis Sr., 77, of Victoria, Va. died Jan. 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce B. Leis; two sons, Eugene Roy Leis, Jr. and wife Connie of Chesapeake and Christopher Jay Leis and wife Kim of Elizabeth City, N.C.;  one daughter, Victoria L. Harkness of Victoria; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  Gene retired as a teamster after thirty years of service. The family would like to thank DRT transportation and UVA of Farmville for all of  their acts of kindness during Gene’s illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Staples Funeral Home Chapel, Victoria where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
