Edna King Stone of Blackstone, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 just shy of her 90th birthday, Mothers Day, May 8th.  She was the last of eight children born to her parents, Dorothy Bondurant and George B. King, formerly of South Boston, VA. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Stone, Sr.  She loved the Lord and her family, being outdoors, walking and being with nature. Edna is survived by her only son, Harold “Hal” Stone, Jr. and his wife, Mechelle of Victoria, VA. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Beth T. Stell(Marshall) of Mechanicsville and Meghan Pearce of Blackstone; three great grandchildren, Elijah, Ashleigh and Jackson. The family received friends Thursday, May 5, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824.  Chapel funeral services and burial took place at 11 A.M., Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002.
