Donald Bruce Overton, 65, of Victoria, VA joined his family in heaven May 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Carey V. Overton and Marie Atkins Overton, his brothers Bobby Overton, Carey Edwin Overton, David Overton, Brent Overton and his sister Doris Tharp Sturges. He is survived by his wife Mary Rose Overton; his children, Jeff Overton and Kim Hudson (Jody); four grandchildren, Crystal Overton, Cody Overton, Alexander Hudson, Brianna Overton; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew and Madilynn Ferguson; sister, Beverly Currin (Ronnie); numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service are Timmy Overton, Jr., Brian Currin, Greg Currin, Charles Barron, Sr., Charles Barron, Jr. and James Inman. The family received friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria. A memorial service will be held Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 5:30 PM in the Tussekiah Baptist Church, 3514 Crymes Rd., Meherrin, VA 23954.
