Stolen vehicle found crashed

A vehicle reported stolen was found crashed on Couches Creek Road outside Victoria on Tuesday, April 25, according to Nottoway County Sheriff Larry J. Parrish.

Parrish said the 2001 white Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen to police in Nottoway on Monday, April 24.

The Jeep, he said, was allegedly “taken from residence in 6700 block of Lewiston Plank Road (in) Burkeville (in) Nottoway County.”

The vehicle, Parrish said, was registered to Paulette C. Hazelwood, of Victoria.

The Jeep was taken between 4-6:45 p.m. and the keys were in the vehicle, Parrish said. The stolen vehicle was found at about 6 a.m.

The accident was investigated by Virginia State Police and “no one (was) around (the) vehicle when found.”
