William Harvey Cottle, Jr., of Victoria, Virginia, passed away on August 8, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born and raised in Lunenburg County, Virginia, and was preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey, Sr. and Garnet McGinis Cottle; and two sisters, Opal Dorsey and Violet Castle. He had three surviving siblings, James H. Cottle, Fern C. Clapp and Ruth C. Taylor. Mr. Cottle is also survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Myrtle A. Cottle; and a daughter, Claudine McDermott and her husband, Ronnie; and his nephews, Billy Taylor, Kevin and Chuck Castle. He also had two devoted grandchildren, Laura M. Ormsby of Richmond and Jonathan R. McDermott of Marietta, GA and his wife, Chantele; and a great-granddaughter, Madison.

Sonny, as friends called him, was a member of the Victoria Church of the Nazarene, where a memorial service will be held in the near future. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for over 30 years in the Railway Handle Factory in Kenbridge, Virginia, from which he retired. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Church of the Nazarene would be appreciated.
