David Bruce Beck Sr.

David Bruce Beck Sr. born February 5, 1947 in Richmond, Virginia to Blunt C. and Julia F. Anderson Beck.
He received his early education in the Kenbridge High School where he graduated.
David served in the National Guard.
He was baptized at Kenbridge Christain Church at an early age. Later in life, David joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Kenbridge, Virginia where he served faithfully as Trustee and Treasurer of the Men’s Ministry until his death.
David also served as Treasurer of the AA Group in Kenbridge Virginia.
David was employed at Commonwealth Tobacco and Imperial Processing companies for over 40 years as a supervisor.
In March of 1971, David married Hazel Yancey and to this union they were blessed with two children.
He departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, Virginia.
Preceding him in death his parents, Blunt and Julia Beck; his former wife, Hazel Y. Beck; a daughter, Ida M. Yancey Williams-Hardy; grandson, Dominic T. Yancey; daugher-in-law, Sandra A. Beck.
He leaves to cherish a loving and devoted son, David Bruce Beck, Jr. of Kenbridge, Virginia; his twin brother, Dennis (Hortense) Beck of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Jacquelyn (Gloyd) May of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; brother, Ronald D. Beck of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one, aunt Bernice Wilkinson; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; devoted friends, Kathy Ann Blackwell, Roscoe Edmonds, and George Nelson (his AA sponsor), along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 6 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, Kenbridge with the Rev. C.L. Hobbs, Jr., pastor.
S.P. Jones and Son Funeral Home served the family.
