Elizabeth “Betty” Shumate Hood, 90, of Victoria, Va. joined her family in Heaven on May 30, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Hood; her daughter, Suellen McGinnis and her brother, John “Jack” Shumate. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Hoover (Jean) and Jimmy Moses (Diane, deceased); six grandchildren, Norma Archer, Wayne Hoover, Alan Moses, Jason Moses, Stephanie Anderson and Renee Harvey; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister Dorothy Whitlock. Betty was a member of the Victoria United Methodist Church and retired from the Virginia Department of Correctional Enterprises.
